Just all around the perfect place to stay for a weekend away! The house is large with an amazing kitchen and beautiful bedrooms, with some lovely countryside walks and amazing scenery nearby.

  • Helen says:

A lovely spacious house with the most amazing views and great access to the river leading to lake Windermere. Close enough to Ambleside to walk there and back. Ideal location to visit other places of interest. Lot’s of wild life to watch from the cosy sun room next to the beautiful kitchen.

  • Helen says:

Loved our stay here. The house is really spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location too – quiet, but within easy walking distance of Ambleside. Loads of good walks and places to visit nearby, but also enjoyed just chilling in the snug with a drink or cup of tea.

  • Scott says:

Host was great any very accommodating. We had to reschedule due to personal circumstances and they were more than helpful and understanding. It’s a lovely property in an amazing setting, we will definitely be returning some day soon.

  • Joanna says:

Stunning views over the countryside from the front of the house. We found the location excellent. It took 10 mins drive to get to Grasmere and Windermere. We were a family with 3 generations and there was more than enough space for us all. The house is well kitted out and there were some lovely welcoming touches when we arrived.

  • Jenny says:

Really lovely place well equipped to a high standard. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Just be aware one of the single beds is not quite full length. Fine for a child or a small teenager but too short for most adults in my opinion.

  • Su says:

Lovely accommodation with great views. We spent 3 nights, mainly for staycation. The kitchen was lovely, good for friends or family gathering.

  • Jenny says:

Lovely property in an ideal location for bars, pubs, and beautiful walks. Would absolutely recommend it.

Amazing stay in a beautiful home… Riverside and close to Ambleside (walking in for evenings only took 10 mins)… Great cosy stay for an autumn trip and kirsti was great at communicating throughout the week and recommending things to do

Went for a few days with friends – perfect location, lovely house, and really helpful team!

  • Marvin says:

We stayed for two weeks with a 6 month and a two year old. It was a great place with beautiful views. The access to the riverbank was also quite nice and very easy to access. We rented kayaks (from the rental place in nearby village of waterhead) and tied them up at the river bank so that our two year old could go for mini kayaking trip.

  • Edward says:

Wonderful house in a fantastic location. Exactly what we were looking for. You really won’t be disappointed! We will be back!

  • Chloe says:

We really enjoyed our stay at Yew Bank. There are some lovely walks straight from the house and even more a short drive away. The house is well equipped and Kirsti is so friendly and helpful (she even gave us her kettle with the house one broke!). The garden is beautiful and we did manage to swim in the river. Would love to stay again sometime.

Great location, fantastic views opportunity to hire kayak or canoes on Windermere and visit house via river. House spotless and has all mod cons, would definitely visit again. 20min walk into Ambleside and 30min to ferry terminal.

  • Corrine says:

Lovely large, spacious house with most of the mod cons expected. the owner was very helpful and friendly. Easy walk into Ambleside and fab views of the lake over fields. Terraced garden by river was very picturesque and ideal for launching your own canoe.

  • Jan says:

The house is spacious, very well equipped and ideal for larger groups. The location is perfect with a short walk into Ambleside and short drive to Chesters at Skelwith Bridge, Coniston, Rydal Water and Windermere. Views from the house are stunning. Garden offers lovely place to relax and steps down to the jetty and river are an added bonus. Host was very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

  • Jane says:

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! The house has incredible uninterrupted views down towards the lake – absolutely stunning! The amenities are great- all the best bits of a lovely old property but also great mod cons (under floor heating was a real treat in the chilly weather!). Kitchen well equipped and lovely bathroom. The garden was great to explore and being able to get right down to the river was just magic. Thanks for a lovely stay and we’d love to stay again!
