Whether you’re an adventure seeker or a potterer, a first-timer or regular visitor to our UNESCO World Heritage Site, there’s plenty of activities and attractions to enjoy during your stay. Fine fell views can be had from the enormous bay window over the church spire towards the local mountain range; walks can be enjoyed right from the door, ideal for those who are ticking off the famous Wainwright’s.

For a gentler pace, the lakeshore is a level walk at Waterhead from where the famous Windermere Lake Cruises depart; enjoy a cruise on the newest addition to their fleet, MS Swift and take in the beautiful backdrop of the mountains that fringe Windermere.  Ambleside is ideal for an afternoon mooch around the many interesting galleries and gift shops, intertwined with cafes and bars for light refreshments during the day and into the evening.

Steps lead up to the entrance and an inviting hallway. Off here sits the imposing lounge dining room with high ceilings adorned with original mouldings and elaborate, decorative fireplace. There’s a large TV with Sky Freeview, BT Sports and a DVD. The dining suites occupies the enormous bay window and provides a great vista over the village towards the fells beyond. The light wood kitchen is neat and tidy and very well equipped with a good range of appliances and at opposite ends of the hallway sit two pretty double bedrooms, prettily decorated,  with crisp white linens and solid furnishings sharing in a bathroom with shower over deep bath, basin and WC.

There’s a private patio area here at Rydale and there are lots of green open spaces within minutes walk. Parking is available via permit on nearby SLDC car parks, the nearest being Lake Road.

Please note: Rydale is accessed up some external, slate steps so may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The steps can be slippery in wet weather. You may unload your vehicle near the property.
