snuggle up on the love seat in front of the fire

Perrywinkle may be small in stature but what it lacks in space, it certainly makes up for in character and charm! This ground floor cottage style abode was painstakingly re-modelled in recent times to create a quality, romantic retreat, just for two.

Respond to Perrywinkle Cottage

  • Gemma says:

Really cute cottage in the heart of Ambleside. It comes with a parking permit which is perfect as parking isn’t always easy in the lakes. The cottage is down a little alley and has its own yard (with a gate so secure for dogs). It’s small but cosy, we couldn’t get the fire to light properly (our fault) but the heaters made the place warm enough already. as the bed is high there is enough space to store bags/suitcases under the bed. The arrival hamper was a lovely touch (bread, milk, cake etc). Only improvement would be to have some salt and pepper! Recommend the walk up to ghyll falls.

We booked this cottage last minute and didn’t have high expectations, just needed something accommodating pets as well. We were really blown away by how thoughtful all of the things were done in and out of that cottage. Getting the key was super easy and we didn’t have to worry about anything when we got it, we even found a little welcoming pack and goody basket with fresh butter, bread, cake (which we regretfully forgot in the fridge as really wanted to take back with us) and selection of jams and biscuits. That was really nice touch. Everything was in perfect working condition and very clean. Cute little outdoor space, also well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay in this cute little cottage. The location was perfect as well! Close to all the main amenities and walks. Great parks around and only 10 mins walk to the lake. All the bars, restaurants and cafes are literally around the corner. Will recommend to family & friends and definitely stay again!

  • Mike says:

Fantastic cottage in a great location – great touches in the cottage, with effectively a brand new kitchen/diner You won’t be disappointed if you book this cottage.

  • Hannah says:

Beautifully appointed and located cute flat. Ambleside is a great village with everything you could need within a few minutes walk and the residence is centrally located but very quiet on a backstreet. For a first trip to the Lake District this is perfect. For the adventurer with lots of gear it is quite small. Super hosts who were very helpful and quick to respond!

  • Adam says:

Such a sweet little cottage, perfectly situated in the centre of Ambleside. The cottage was spotlessly clean and felt very high end. The welcome basket was delightful, especially the fruit cake which was devoured at the top of Helvellyn.

  • Bob says:

A very compact but useable space ideal for a couple looking to get away for a few days. The location in the centre of Ambleside is perfect with the many restaurants and bars on your door step.

  • Josh says:

Truly excellent property, stunningly furnished, incredible location, and very clean. The basket with bread and jams was a lovely touch. The WiFi is good-to-excellent. There is a TV, log burner and hob however we did not use these but they seem of high quality. The bathroom water pressure is very decent and the temperature remained warm for 2 people to take rather lengthy showers. The tips for walks and cafes in the back of the handbook proved very useful. I understand the owners are always keen for feedback so apart from the above praise the only addition we would have liked to have seen would be salt and pepper provided. A minor hassle for an otherwise flawless experience
