Delightfully detached bungalow with lovely views of Loughrigg fell

Parkwood is a superb example of a modern-day, self-catering retreat, perfectly placed in a quiet, residential backwater of popular Ambleside. Gently elevated above the village and delightfully detached, this split-level bungalow occupies a sunny, corner plot and offers stylish, comfortable accommodation for a larger party of friends and family. There is a sunny patio directly off the lounge, just the spot for enjoying your morning cuppa whilst taking in the lovely views across the village to Loughrigg beyond.

A ten-minute walk downhill brings you to the shores of Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a leisurely cruise on Windermere Lake Cruises’ latest vessel, MV Swift and take in the glorious views of the surrounding fell range. Ambleside itself has a great selection of indoor and outdoor attractions to suit our typical Lakeland climate and caters well for holidaymakers offering a great selection of supermarkets, local butchers, and bakers as well as an eclectic mix of tea rooms, bars, and restaurants to sample during the day and through to the evening.

Fantastic accommodation, great location, it’s literally a 5 min walk to the town center, and again a 5 min walk to the edge of Lake Windermere, very quiet lovely area that the bungalow is situated, you can take a walk up Wansfell pike which is 1.2 miles from the bungalow to the trig point and makes for a lovely, 3.3 mile loop if coming back down and past ghyll force waterfalls and through Ambleside, I can’t recommend enough for anyone wanting a peaceful stay in the lakes.

This is a lovely house in a fab location. We did a number of walks from the house. We also walked to the pier on Windermere and took a boat trip. The house has everything you need for a great stay including a box of toys and children books that our grandchildren enjoyed playing with. The enclosed terrace off of the sitting room was nice to use and a real suntrap as was the whole sitting room.
