Meadow Rue has been renovated with care by the new owners to a lovely standard. Tucked away in a quiet area of Windermere, it benefits from private secure parking and views overlooking the playing fields opposite.
Windermere is a great base for any holiday; try the 555 bus up to Keswick for a hike up Catbells, and work your way back down through Grasmere for Grasmere Gingerbread, Ambleside to sample The Stamp House and Bowness on Windermere for a cruise with Windermere Lake Cruises.
The apartment is part of a quiet complex in Windermere with gated parking suitable for a medium-size car. On entering the open-plan living accommodation it is both cosy, modern and very comfortable for a perfect stay.
Meadow Rue boasts a double bedroom, single bedroom, and modern shower room all on one level with views out over the Phoenix playing fields, and is just a 5-minute walk from Windermere train station, making it perfect for trips on public transport.

The location is great and the flat was spotless.
Nice bright clean apartment, very comfortable and well equipped; parking a bonus too
We really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is very well located, well equipped, very comfortable and clean. There are very nice hikes around it, it’s perfect for a stay in the Lake District.
Great stay – clean furnishings and decent location (short drive (or long walk) into Bowness where most of the restaurants are). Happy with the cleanliness of the apartment; it’s all new! Very well equipped kitchen. Decent size for a couple with a small single bedroom too. As a couple, we are used to a Queen sized bed, so we did find it a squeeze in a double, but that is just personal preference. If you wanted to make this place 100% perfect, the shower is the only criticism – electric so it’s low pressure. After a long day of walking in the heat wave, it was hard to wash off multiple layers of sun cream and grease! I did manage to wash my hair though which took a while (I have a lot of hair!). Overall, good stay in a clean and comfortable environment! – Be aware of small parking space (reverse camera required).
Meadow Rue is a cosy, modern apartment with a great vibe and perfect location. We had very pleasant stay there and wouldn’t hesitate to book it again. However, we had some issues with a check in and finding the place but agency was helpful and quickly responding at all times. The only downside of the apartment was lack of the washing machine. Description mentioned about communal laundry room but there wasn’t any and we had to use laundrette in the town.
A perfect way to explore the lakes district! The place is lovely and is on a quiet street around the corner from many great restaurants and cafes. Private parking makes it easy to have a car, though it is a narrow spot. Windermere itself is a great jumping off point for driving up to Ambleside, Grasmere and beyond. Wifi was great and zoom meetings were easy. It was also very easy communicating with the office and walking by for questions. Definitely stay the Monday – Monday if you can, and enjoy!
Beautifully styled modern apartment and very well equipped with everything we needed! So nice to have parking space, 2 min walk from great coffee shops and restaurants. Will definitely stay again!

Lovely place, such cute décor. Location wise it’s brilliant, 5 mins walk to Windermere station and quite close to Bowness as well. Definitely recommend.
Fantastic apartment. It offered everything I needed for my vacation in Windermere. Internally it’s immaculately modern. Location is perfect. Only a 1 minute walk from all of the shops, restaurants and Cafes but away from the noise.
THE BEST APARTMENT I’VE EVER STAYED AT
This flat is absolutely magical! It looks exactly as shown in the pictures, if not better, and has everything you can think of, even if you were to live there permanently. (Bonus: we found a number of board games under the TV, and spent all evenings playing Scrabble.)
The location is lovely, with the living room windows overlooking a quiet little park – and very central, with a 5-7 minute walk from the Windermere train station.
The place was spotless when we arrived, and it turned out to be quiet, too: we couldn’t hear the neighbours at all, which was very nice.
It is very, very beautiful, with carefully chosen details and decor. You can tell the items were purchased uniquely for this flat: all items look brand new, stylish, and of high quality.
What I especially appreciated was the well-working and easy-to-use heaters that you could adjust for each room, which helped keep the flat temperature perfect (I find it can be tricky in England sometimes).
We thought of keeping this place as our hidden gem, but the praise is due. It was truly a heartbreak to go, and we wished we had booked our stay for longer!
