A STONE’S THROW FROM AMBLESIDE

The village centre is a stone’s throw away, brimming with interesting galleries, outdoor shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to tempt you throughout the day and into the evening. Wonderful walking and cycling can be enjoyed from the doorstep and the shores of Windermere and a host of water based activities are a gentle, 15 minute stroll away.

How Bank is a detached property that is delightfully spacious and provides superb facilities for a self catering break, whatever time of year you choose to visit.

The ground floor

The ground floor layout offers space and flexibility for a family gathering ensuring everyone can enjoy a good degree of privacy during their stay, the snug come games room sure to be well used by the younger members in your party.

With beautifully manicured gardens filled with mature trees and shrubs and awash with colour throughout the year – do help yourself to the apples as they fall from the trees! A cleverly designed metal walkway links the front of the house to the rear allowing you to follow the sun around, sit in the perfectly positioned seating areas and while away a couple of hours with your newest novel whilst listening to the sound of the water cascading down Stock Ghyll.

Enter How Bank through the garden from the private parking at the back of the house that is sufficient for up to 3 cars and into a welcoming hallway with large cloakroom, plenty of hanging space for coats and a place for your shoes and boots. The spacious and very comfortable lounge provides deep cushioned seating arranged around the warming gas fireplace, the room having full height windows allowing for plenty of light and French doors leading directly to the garden.

The kitchen dining room has hand-built oak kitchen units, a granite worktop and large oak dining table and chairs. It is a super space for all the family to gather and share a hand in preparing a special dinner. Extremely well equipped, the amateur chef among you will delight in the thoughtfully provided gadgets and stylish accessories including a selection from Joseph Joseph.

The front hallway leads to the cosy snug with two further sofas, PS4 and Nintendo WIIU with a selection of video and board games and DVDs.

The first floor

The first floor comprises two Super-king or twin bedrooms, one of which is en-suite, a third bedroom furnished with a modern-day bunk bed to accommodate two adults or three children as the bottom bunk is a small double and the large family bathroom. All beds have quality mattresses dressed in fine linens and bespoke furniture to compliment these lovely, light rooms. Bath robes are provided including a child size so do request kid’s dressing gowns at the time of booking if required. The house bathroom offers a bath, a corner shower cubicle, twin hand basins and WC.

PLEASE NOTE:  A £200 refundable Good Housekeeping Deposit is required for all bookings to be paid 8 weeks prior to your holiday.

GROUND FLOOR:

  • Entrance from the garden into large hallway with cloakroom, handbasin and WC
  • Spacious lounge with full height windows and patio doors to the outside, gas fired woodburning effect stove, TV with Netflix (own account details required) iPlayer, DVD and BlueRay player

FIRST FLOOR:

  • Bedroom 1: Superking zip and link (please ask for this to be made up as twins) with en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, handbasin and saniflow WC
  • Bedroom 2: Superking zip and link (please ask for this to be made up as twins)
  • Bedroom 3: Modern day bunk room with step access to the top single with a double bed at the bottom – N.B. the house is available to groups of up to 6 adults or 4 adults and 3 children
  • House bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, twin sinks and WC

OUTSIDE:

  • Private parking for up to 3 cars
  • Large garden with lawned and planted areas with bramley apple trees and a number of patio areas directly next to Stock Ghyll river
  • Large outdoor dining table and smaller table provided
  • Please note: There are some very low boundary walls to the river and unfenced drops in the garden – do take care, particularly with children

LOWER GROUND FLOOR:

  • Storage area/cellar built into the hill with a door and window onto the lower patio and gardens. This can be used as storage for bikes, and canoes, etc.
