about 20 mins walk to Ambleside lovely garden to sit in well equipped very relaxing place to stay ”

  • Jamie says:

A lovely holiday in the lakes to get away for a bit and to have a think about whether we want to move there. To summarise the cottage, if it were to come on the market tomorrow, I would buy it instantly, and not change a thing, including the furniture, decorations, linen, kitchen ware, electronics…everything! What a perfect house and a complete home away from home. Didn’t want for anything. Book it, you won’t regret it

  • Megan says:

Just recently got back from our stay at Heather Cottage. I could not fault anything about it. It was fabulous! The cottage was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you could possibly need. I would thoroughly recommend staying here and will definitely be returning.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage, perfectly situated in the beautiful Lake District and provided with all possible facilities and accommodations. Michelle was also very quick in reacting to all our questions. We hope to return one day.

Cottage is small but cosy and well equipped. Spotless and very comfortable. There was a welcome package on arrival. Checking in and out went fine. The area is fantastic and there is a lot to do. We definitely recommend this cottage!

  • Catherine says:

Great stay, lovely little cottage, everything is there. Loved the little welcoming basket with local products and very handy for the morning! We feel at home, it is very clean, everything has been thought through, from the board games to the binoculars to observe the birds. Not far from Ambleside so it is both far enough to feel quiet and relax and close enough by car to do some shopping or eat somewhere. Really loved it! Thank yo

    Heather Cottage near Ambleside.
What a delightful cottage, well equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated. The location is ideal for walks in the surrounding countryside and to nearby towns. We enjoyed the walk through fields and woods to Hawkshead and the stroll to nearby Skelwith Bridge. We ate in the cottage on several nights enjoying an after dinner drink in the garden soaking up the views and treated ourselves to a lovely meal in the renowned Drunken Duck. Having stayed in many places in the Lakes over the years, Heather cottage was certainly up there with the best.

  • Emily says:

By far one of the best cottages I have ever stayed in! The home is beautifully decorated with a modern touch yet full of its original charm, and the little touches like the games/books/dvds, the wine on arrival and the decoration made us feel right at home our whole stay. We especially loved sitting in the garden and watching the sheep! The cottage is in a lovely location, a short drive to anywhere you’d wish to go and about a 40 minute walk into the centre of Ambleside. I could not fault this cottage! It was such a pleasure to stay here! Beautiful place and amazing communication from the hosts, I would not hesitate to recommend.
