Respond to The Hayloft

  • Edward says:

    Great location, nice and cosy

  • Catherine says:

Lovely, clean, compact accommodation. All essentials there but no microwave as not enough space in the kitchen. Nice bottle of Prosecco waiting for us. Good paths very close by and easy walks to Hawkeshead and Wray Castle. The parking space at the front is quite small – our car just about fitted. Pub very close is very friendly and has good reasonably priced food.

  • Caroline says:

What a wonderful place to stay. It was all we hoped for. Perfect location and felt homely. It was so clean and we would definitely recommend it to others . We hope to visit again.

  • Sophie says:

Wonderful stay in a wonderful place. Great location with walks on the doorstep. The hayloft is beautifully set up with everything one needs. It’s warm, cosy and quickly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended.

  • Viktorija says:

Amazing place, in an amazing location. Very clean and cozy, everything there you might need. Highly recommended and definitely will come back.

  • Melissa says:

Lovely place to stay and great location for visiting lots of different places!

  • Harry says:

Clean, cosy, and nothing was too much trouble. Perfect stay in the lakes, great location for lots of walks just a short drive away

  • Melv says:

A fantastic little dog friendly cottage with everything you need with amazing walks through the hills towards Wray Castle and Hawkhead. The Prosecco waiting for us on check in was a really nice touch. The Outgate Inn next door is a must with nice home cooked food and an amazing Sunday Roast. Our little Jack Russell (Jess) loved it that much she didn’t want to come home. We will definitely love to stay again.

  • Liesje 'Lee-Sha' says:

A lovely charming cottage, well equipped with great walks on the doorstep and the pub next door has tasty pizzas However, worth noting that the parking space is quite small and tricky to park in and garden is accessed through another property. Oh and take some DVDs to watch as TV could do with an upgrade!

  • Charlotte says:

Lovely stay at the Hayloft. Good location for walks and nice to have a pub next door.

  • charlotte says:

Would highly recommend the Ginger Bread nook. It’s a nicely presented very clean apartment in a great location. Grasmere has everything you need – pubs, shops, restaurants etc, without being as chaotic and touristy as Windermere/Ambleside. Great public transport links for those not wishing to take a car. The apartment was beautiful and perfect for two. It is really good value for money, especially considering the price of hotels and cottages in the area. Would definitely stay again!

  • Phillip says:

Really lovely place near loads of walks and right next to a good pub.

  • Steph says:

A fantastic place to stay with plenty of walks right from the door and wonderfully dog friendly area. We have loved our week.

  • Katie says:

The Hayloft was a great base for exploring the lakes. The property was lovely and had everything you need for a short break. The garden, which can be found around the back, was a great bonus when staying with a dog. The pub next door has a good beer garden – would recommend the steak pie! There’s also an easy walk to Hawkshead following public footpaths. Thank you!

  • Ian says:

The Hayloft is in a fantastic location to explore the lakes, the house itself was great for the two of us and our pooches! It is located a very short walk from the Outgate Inn and is worth a visit. Michelle is a great host, and it was a lovely touch leaving us a bottle of prosecco.

  • Sophie Daniels says:

We’ve just returned from a four night stay at the Hayloft. Beautiful, character cottage in a chocolate box village with a pub a few steps away. Was a perfect location for getting around the lakes.
Bottle of Prosecco to welcome us and spotless inside with really nice wooden features throughout.
    We loved it, thank you.

  • Richard says:

First time to Lake District Great place to stay , lovely little village and 40yds from the local pub , oh happy days Can’t fault Hayloft , clean and lovely , great welcome package of essentials and a bottle of Prosecco Easy drive to most areas , but the narrow roads are challenge , will be back . Lovely walks locally and dog loved them , apart from the sheep poo , which he took a liking to Recommend to anyone wanting a chilled break and a pub on your door step . Oh fish and chips in pub one of the best Richard and Katie and buddy the dog

  • Catriona says:

Lovely little cosy cottage, very well appointed for two people. Fantastic location to access most parts of the Lakes easily. Walking from the door and no more than twenty metres to the nearest pub!

  • Chris says:

Comfortable cottage in a good location, would stay again

  • Ben says:

Great little place, perfect for a couples short stay. Location spot on. The team were great and easy to book with, will be back to this property very soon. Many thanks!

  • Michael says:

Excellent place, clean, warm and modern interior, absolutely ideal for two and a dog. Very responsive host seemed more than happy to help with even the more trivial of our queries.

  • Bethany says:

Lovely little place in a great location in between Ambleside and Hawkshead, easy to get to everywhere! Great pub a stones throw away that’s a must visit. Really cosy on a winters night and slept comfortably after long days of hiking.

  • Megan says:

What an amazing place to stay. In the middle of nowhere but still accessible to local amenities. Lovely walks all around.

  • Ben says:

Really nice, clean and cosy place to stay and explore the Lakes.

  • Tom says:

We spent a fantastic week at the Hayloft. It’s a beautifully designed little apartment which we found suitable for the two of us and our 19mo old daughter. It has a lovely cosy character and remains light thanks to its large windows. Outgate is nicely located for a couple of walks, particularly to the beautiful Latterbarrow with views over Windermere, and the pub next door was lively and served very good evening meals; we also used the facilities to cater for ourselves. Getting there and getting in was simple thanks to great information. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hayloft to others.

  • Stuart says:

Our second time staying here. It’s in such a lovely quiet setting close to so many great walks and cycle routes

  • Stuart says:

Stunning cottage in a beautiful location. Amazing walks and cycle routes right from your door. Would love to stay again!

  • Caroline says:

A superbly comfortable and warm apartment in a pretty location. The facilities are modern, stylish and clean. The thoughtful extra touches really stand this property out from others.

  • Danielle says:

We really loved the little hayloft, just perfect for our needs! It has been renovated(?) to a high standard and provided a warm, dry and comfy base for a couple exploring the Lakes. Pretty much everything was spot on, we especially loved the fact that the milkman delivers each morning 🙂 The property is minutes from the local pub which served good food and welcomed our dog. There are walks from the front door and many more within a short drive, along with cute villages and towns. You have your own parking spot and garden which although not directly accessed from the house (just behind through a gate) is well set up to enjoy some relaxation after exploring. We would quite happily return here for a quiet relaxing break!

  • Catherine says:

Lovely cute cottage very close the the local pub and the Drunken Duck

  • Amelia says:

The Hayloft was a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. There are so many great walks right on your doorstep and in such a great location, because so peaceful and quiet but at the same time close driving and walking distance to the main towns i.e. Ambleside, Windermere etc. If you do visit the area, I would highly recommend driving up to Rydal if you can as the walks here and the walks from Rydal to Grasmere were among my favourite on our visit. All the facilities were great and the information that comes with the property on how to use everything (as well as information about the area and recommendations for walks and food) was very clear and useful. The Outgate Inn is literally next door to the Hayloft and the staff in there were so friendly. It was a lovely little palace, offering great food and drink. Overall, the Hayloft was wonderful and made our stay in the Lakes even more enjoyable.

  • Jordan says:

Superb location. There are plenty of lovely walks from the accommodation, including Lake Windermere being about an hours trek away. The Hayloft was very spacious and well equipped for two people and we had an incredibly relaxed few days there – the prosecco helped too!

  • Jessica says:

Lovely place to stay, in a great location for walking straight out of the door into the Lakes. Very clean and comfortable, and a nice pub along the street for lunch and dinner. We recommend the Latterbarrow, Wray Castle and Hawkshead walks. We also drove up to Keswick to do Catbells Ridge. We had beautiful weather throughout so were very lucky!

  • Jeremy says:

Great location with lots to do in the area. Lovely property and very well equipped. One minor problem was fixed really quickly. We had a great week.

  • Dan says:

Lovely place with plenty of footpaths on your doorstep, had a great time exploring the local area.

  • Laurence says:

Really lovely accommodation, great base for exploring the lakes!

  • Laura says:

A beautiful little place perfectly situated to explore the Lakes. Accessible parking right outside and a cozy spot in which to relax.

  • Hannah says:

We loved it – so cosy, everything was super clean and it was the perfect location for exploring the nearby lakes. We would highly recommend the Hayloft.

  • Sarah says:

This small but perfectly finished house, is amazingly located if you want some beautiful walks straight from the door

  • Andrew says:

Really lovely cottage we stayed in over Christmas. Kitchen well stocked and we cooked a full Christmas dinner with no problems! Excellent location close to Ambleside and to many amazing walks

  • Andrea says:

Thanks Michelle for our wonderful Christmas stay. We had a lovely time in your great house. Great stay and we hope to be back one day!
