Romantic Hideaway For Two Set In The Heart of Beatrix Potter Territory

Hawkshead Hideaway is just that; a perfect piece of calm, somewhere special to relax, unwind and spend precious time together. Magnificent cruck beams are proudly displayed throughout the apartment and large picture windows and skylights allow the light to flood through and give way to wonderful views of the fells. Quality furnishings ensure your every comfort and are married perfectly with a calming colour palette and well-chosen accessories to create a soothing, peaceful atmosphere.

Roger Ground is a tiny hamlet less than a ten-minute walk from the centre of picturesque Hawkshead, allegedly taking its name from the local Parish Priest of Hawkshead, Roger who lived here at the main house in the 1600s. The cobbled square and ginnels of the village are lined with whitewashed cottages, interesting galleries and tea rooms and several traditional Inns. The local Co-op supermarket is well stocked for your day to day supplies and a larger selection of shopping can be found in nearby Ambleside, just 5 miles away. Hawkshead Hideaway can be let in conjunction with her sister property to accommodate up to 12 guests.

  • Stephen says:

Simply lovely Literally just what the doctor ordered. Quiet but handy location. Good facilities , beams could be an issue especially in the bathroom but did not detract from a lovely stay. The addition of a beautiful garden was a bonus

  • Anselm says:

It was awesome! Thx so much!

  • Brenda Metcalfe says:

A fabulous apartment, with wonderful views, within walking distance of Hawkshead. The apartment was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. We loved waking up to the fantastic views of the mountains. You can walk from the door to Tarn Hows, Wray Castle, Esthwaite Water and many more locations. The apartment has a gorgeous cottage garden and from the garden gate you can walk through the fields into Hawkshead and avoid the road. There is a high quality of fixture and fittings, and everything is provided for right down to binoculars and a bird spotting book. We have now had 2 wonderful stays here and look forward to returning later in the year.

  • Linda says:

Comfortable accommodation in a lovely location, just 10 minute walks to Hawkshead and to Esthwaite Water. Beautiful views from lounge. Parking very tight when guests are in property below. Also linked fire alarm with that property.

  • Ann says:

Fantastic location. Luxurious inside with lovely welcome pack. A place to relax after a good walk or boat trip. Short walk to 3 village pubs with nice food. Highly recommended

  • Neil says:

Great location for getting out and about in The Lake District. A few really nice walks from the apartment and many other beautiful places a short drive away. The apartment is comfortable and has everything you need in a very quiet location but just a few minutes walk into Hawkshead with it’s pubs and amenities.

  • Lucy says:

Thanks for a wonderful week in Hawkshead. Gorgeous little apartment for a couple. Perfect place for us to explore the lakes and short walk into the village with lovely cafes and pubs. Thank you for the welcome hamper, we loved the vanilla and raspberry jam!

  • Sam says:

A lovely little apartment with incredible views of the mountains. A clean, comfortable and cosy stay with lots of useful additions and some lovely touches to arrive to. The original beams are quite low so watch your head if you’re over 5’9”!
