Perfectly located in the heart of romantic Grasmere, this first-floor apartment has been totally transformed by the new owners to provide cosy, contemporary, high-quality facilities, ideal for that special ‘just the two of you’ break away. Perched above the village green to the front and the babbling River Rothay behind, the location couldn’t be more idyllic. With private, off-road parking for one car, simply park up here at Gingerbread Nook and explore this beautiful part of Lakeland.
Grasmere offers many fine routes for walking and cycling, the slopes of the famous Helm Crag or Lion and The Lamb, as it’s fondly called, literally minutes from the front door. The village is well served by a great selection of pubs and cafes, The Jumble Room and Tweedies Bar being firm favourites with locals and holidaymakers alike. Have a mooch around a number of interesting galleries and pick up a memento of your trip, perhaps a scenic watercolour from The Heaton Cooper Studio or a vibrant mug from Herdy, featuring the Lakeland Herdwick sheep. No visit to Grasmere is complete without sampling a piece of the world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread, perfect for packing into your rucksack and enjoying at the top of a mountain.

Gingerbread Nook is accessed by way of an external staircase with a secure entrance hall; step into the newly designed kitchen, a modern take on a traditional shaker style with fully integrated Bosch appliances of dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment and wine rack, all wrapped in cool Quartz. The breakfast bar is complimented by dimmable pendant lighting for those cosy dinners in.
The comfortable lounge has an armchair chair and footstool strategically placed in the large bay window overlooking the village green and the picturesque fells beyond; the perfect place to watch the sunset whilst enjoying your favourite tipple. The deep-cushioned sofa sits in front of the large SMART TV and the apartment benefits from unlimited WiFi.
The carpeted bedroom has a king-size bed dressed in quality linens to ensure a good night’s sleep, with modern, wooden blinds completing the romantic look. The stylish walk-in shower room has a basin with illuminated mirror above, toilet and heated towel rail.
Outside, there is a private car park, with a designated parking space for Gingerbreak Nook right outside your front door. There is also shared access to a handy utility room on the ground floor with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

Just spent a week in Gingerbread Nook ( May 2022) and what a delight ! Had previously stayed in 2019 and has been completely modernised into a lovely bright and stylish apartment. Lovely central position looking out over the square in Grasmere . Spotlessly clean when arrived with a welcome bottle of Prosecco and milk in fridge. Cleverly thought out apartment which caters for all your needs. All kitchen appliances & utensils you would need & more ! Very good power shower. Very large & comfy bed. and living room area is great space to relax . Had no issues with parking at back but then most of other flats were not occupied and the cafe below was only open once on the week. Great holiday let that I will definitely stay in again & would recommend to all for a stay in the Lakes . Well done !

This is a great location in the heart of Grasmere village. The lounge has open aspect and you can see the hills perfect for morning yoga. The property is a lovely apartment with comfy sofa and seat. Well appointed kitchenette. Good shower. One note for memory foam lovers the bed has a sprung mattress. Please check location with the host as it had correct street on but map took me to another property. I would highly recommend this property and the general area. One thing to check out is the regular and cheap bus services which are really helpful and meant we didn’t use the car. Trips to Easdale tarn and Grasmere lake recommended locally.

Lovely stay in Grasmere this is a fantastic place with great hikes. The apartment is super convenient, well appointed warm and comfortable. The cafes and shops are great to wander around and nearby Ambleside was a nice outing on a wet day.

Flat and location of it was perfect and having an easy parking space made the stay even better although we did some beautiful walks from the doorstep. Can’t recommend the Jumble Room enough too- but book early. Overall an amazing and beautiful place.

Gingerbread Nook is just the most beautiful place to stay. Finished to such a high standard, everything we needed, so a real home from home feel and couldn’t be in a more perfect location in the heart of a lovely festive Grasmere! Hosts were very accommodating and communication was great.
Well thought out contemporary design of this flat makes it stand out. It’s located in prime position in the centre of Grasmere will it’s own parking space, a real bonus at busy times. We would definitely stay here again.

Grasmere is an ideal place to base yourself during a stay in the lakes. Multiple walks right from your doorstep. Easy walk to Ambleside. Regular and reliable bus on the main road if you were not wanting to drive. Parking space is so handy at the property in a private courtyard. Would recommend you keep the email to hand with the instructions on how to find the property and then it’s so easy to find. Property has everything you need and kept to a very high standard! There is also a communal washer and dryer if you were to need it. Welcome pack is in the apartment full of useful info about the property. Was lovely to arrive to a nice treat of some fizz! Communication was quick and easy and everyone is very helpful. We will definitely look to book other properties with this Lakeland Retreats!
Quality accommodation and a very well-equipped apartment in a great location.
Just got back from a great week in Gingerbread Nook. A perfect place in a perfect location for 2 people. We did wonder on arrival if it might be noisy at night being so central but that wasn’t the case at all. We used the bus on our last day to go to Ambleside and walked back over Loughrigg Fell and Silver Howe which worked very well. We’ll definitely be back and will make more use of this excellent local bus service.
This a little gem in the heart of Grasmere, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. Ideal for walks from the door, and plenty of choice for excellent food and drink.

This apartment is absolutely fabulous. Immaculately clean, in a very quiet fantastic place that is Grasmere. I can’t recommend this place enough. We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
This really is a stunning apartment in a perfect location overlooking the village green. I loved sitting in the armchair watching the world go by, with a cup of tea and some grasmere gingerbread after a day of walking the fells. The layout and decor is beautifully done given the small space.The whole apartment feels light and spacious. We would highly recommend this property. Our top tip would be the Easedale Tarn walk which starts outside the property. An hour to the tarn and an hour back with opportunities to swim in the waterfall pools and the tarn itself. The perfect Lakes experience.

Quiet, clean and modern apartment just off of Grasmere high street. Perfect location for exploring the Lake District. Very convenient to have allocated parking. This is a snug space that is perfect for using it as a base for exploring rather than spending long periods inside. Would recommend 🙂
