Pretty as a picture, Fisherbeck Cottage sits in a superb and convenient location, midway between the popular village of Ambleside and the shores of Windermere. Set well back off the road, this traditional, comfortable home from home enjoys lovely views across the adjacent sheep dotted fields to the fells beyond tempting walkers of all ages and abilities to pull on their boots and head to the hills.
A level, 5 minute stroll brings you into the centre of town where you’ll find every convenience you’ll need to properly self-cater during your stay and a wonderful variety of eateries should you decide to treat yourselves and have a night off kitchen duties. A short stroll in the other direction and you’re on the shores of England’s largest lake; from here you can take a sedate cruise around Windermere, hire a rowing boat, try your hand a paddleboarding or simply sit and marvel at the stunning views.
From the off-road, private parking area, enter Fisherbeck Cottage from the rear and step into a light, bright kitchen with slate floors, microwave, fridge freezer, gas hob and electric double oven. There is a shower room just off the kitchen with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.
A few steps down and you are in the spacious lounge dining room, again with slate floors and comfortable furnishings arranged around a multi-fuel stove and TV with Freeview and DVD.
The stairs lead from the rear hallway to the first floor where you’ll find three good bedrooms; a single to the front, a single to the rear with fine fell views towards Fairfield Horseshoe and the main double bedroom, again to the front. The house bathroom has a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC.
Fisherbeck Cottage is blessed with two off-road parking spaces and a mature cottage garden to the side and front and a large patio area with furniture provided.

Great cottage, great location, with parking, dog friendly. This place is only a 10 min walk from the town centre yet totally tranquil and quiet at night, very peaceful and great for star gazing, the milky way was clearly visible when we walked the dog at 9.30pm
The property is well located up a gentle hill between the town and the lake. We had our dog with us, so was good to be close to the lake where there is a park to let him have a good run. The kitchen is well stocked making cooking easy if you’re not taking advantage of the many lovely places to eat. We tried Lucy’s, Flying Fleece (had lovely live music Sunday evening), Ambleside Inn and the Copper Pot, all offering good meals. Communication was good with our queries being quickly responded to. Make sure to take tea/coffee/sugar as this is not available on arrival. Overall a good place to stay for a week.
Fisherbeck cottage was lovely, perfect location for Ambleside and great to have two parking spaces.
