A superb location

The charming Duckling Cottage enjoys a superb location amongst a small number of original stone-built cottages at the entrance to the prestigious Pullwood Bay.

This completely renovated beautifully presented property, with prettily decorated woodwork, offers contemporary living with excellent facilities which are sure to delight a friend group or family in any season. There are miles of enjoyable walks to explore from the door, without the need for a car.

Although delightfully rural, Pullwood Bay is within an easy 2-mile reach of Ambleside and nearby Hawkshead where you’ll find a superb selection of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

The estate is set in over 51 acres of private landscaped gardens and mature, natural woodland. Guests can enjoy a stroll or bike ride through the beautiful grounds which are home to wild deer, squirrels and a superb selection of flora, fauna.

Duckling Cottage is accessed from the rear patio; enter into a stylish open plan living space with quality furnishings and beautiful co-ordinating décor. The sofas are arranged around a gas log burner effect stove and in front of the Freeview TV with DVD. The dining area is strategically placed near the large picture windows and next to the modern-day, fully fitted kitchen with integrated appliances.

Off the hallway to the front are the stairs leading to the first floor where you’ll find a cosy and pretty twin bedroom (2ft 6 wide beds) with exposed low beams. An elegant king size bedroom sits at the front of the house, again with some exposed trusses and interesting rooflines. There is also a modern bathroom with shower cubicle, deep bath, hand basin and WC.

Outside, Duckling Cottage enjoys a sunny patio to the rear, set within a quiet open-plan courtyard with picnic table provided.

All of the properties at Pullwood Bay can enjoy half a mile of private lake frontage, perfect for enjoying a picnic at the water’s edge whilst taking in the glorious views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range. The private jetty is available for those wishing to launch a dinghy, canoe or kayak (with prior arrangement) and the shallow bay is safe for taking a quick dip, paddle boarding and perfect for those more adventurous wild swimmers amongst you.

Amazing property!! Perfect location for walks, seeing the lakes and waterfalls, super clean and spacious and bright, love the Log fire and cosy feel. You can travel by car or bus to get around as it’s central enough but also on a lovely private woodland estate! Highly recommend to stay here – Ambleside is so beautiful and we had a wonderful and relaxing stay here.

  • Emma says:

  • Amanda Staincliffe says:

Duckling Cottage has everything you could need for a short break. It’s spotlessly clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. It is located at the entrance to Pullwood Bay so there is some traffic noise from the road which is most noticeable early morning. The location is fantastic with walks on your doorstep and direct access to the lake from Pullwood Bay, we took a paddle board and had great fun in the shallows.

  • Keith says:

Duckling cottage is located at the entrance to the Pullwood Estate . The cottage is well maintained and comfortable with the local agents willing and able to resolve any issues quickly. Located within walking distance of Ambleside, Hawkshead, Wray Castle and Skelwith Bridge it is a good location for people who might want more gentle walking before traveling to hit the higher fells.

  • Melinda says:

  • James says:
