The perfect setting for spotting the visiting deer

The beautiful Deer Corner sits within a small cluster of eye-catching cottages that grace the entrance to Pullwood Bay, the perfect setting for spotting the visiting deer and other wildlife that roam this prestigious estate.

The owners have carefully renovated this traditional stone-built cottage to create a luxurious, country retreat offering superb facilities to ensure your comfort, whatever season you choose to visit.

Although delightfully rural, Pullwood Bay is within an easy 2-mile reach of Ambleside and nearby Hawkshead where you’ll find a superb selection of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

The estate is set in over 51 acres of private landscaped gardens and mature, natural woodland. Guests can enjoy a stroll or bike ride through the beautiful grounds which are home to wild deer, squirrels and a superb selection of flora, fauna.

A great social space

The usual entrance into Deer Corner is via the French doors to the rear and into a bright, modern kitchen diner; well fitted with every convenience you’ll need, this is a great social space where everyone can lend a hand in preparing breakfast or dinner.

The contemporary living room is decorated with accent colours, the woodburning stove taking centre stage. Sumptuous leather sofas recline for your comfort and another set of doors open out on to a south-facing patio, just the spot for a morning coffee before heading out for the day. Off the hallway sits a neat double bedroom with separate shower, hand basin and WC. On the first floor are two beautifully presented bedrooms, a spacious twin with quality fittings and delightful outlook and a stunning kingsize, again with quality fittings and elegant décor. Both share in a superb modern bathroom with a double size shower cubicle, slipper bath, handbasin and WC.

Outside, Deer Corner enjoys a sunny patio to the rear, set within a quiet courtyard with furniture provided.

All of the properties at Pullwood Bay can enjoy half a mile of private lake frontage, perfect for enjoying a picnic at the water’s edge whilst taking in the glorious views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range. The private jetty is available for those wishing to launch a dinghy, canoe or kayak (with prior arrangement) and the shallow bay is safe for taking a quick dip, paddle boarding and perfect for those more adventurous wild swimmers amongst you.

N.B. Waterborne activities are undertaken at your own risk.

Respond to Deer Corner

  • Andrew says:

We had an excellent week at Deer Corner from 10-17 July, 2021 facilitated by very good weather. Accommodation was very comfortable and Pullwood Bay proved an ideal place for our two year grandson to enjoy his first kayaking trips with our daughter and son-in-law, as well as enjoying the trip down the quiet driveway on his scooter or bike to the lakeside to feed the ducks. Thank you.

  • Graham Smith says:

We enjoyed our stay at Deer Corner. The accommodation is very spacious and well equipped. The setting is very peaceful and close to the shore of Windermere where you can sit on the jetty looking out over the lake.
