Curlew Close was part of the original coach house and stables located at the entrance to the magnificent Pullwood Bay Estate. With space for family and friends, this full of character, stone-built, attractive cottage provides comfortable facilities in a cosy, country style.
Although delightfully rural, Pullwood Bay is within an easy 2-mile reach of Ambleside and nearby Hawkshead where you’ll find a superb selection of shops, galleries, bars and restaurants. The estate is set in over 51 acres of private landscaped gardens and mature, natural woodland. Guests can enjoy a stroll or bike ride through the beautiful grounds which are home to wild deer, squirrels and a superb selection of flora, fauna.

Outside, Curlew Close has a south-facing, open patio to the rear, with ample furniture provided. All of the properties at Pullwood Bay can enjoy half a mile of private lake frontage, perfect for enjoying a picnic at the water’s edge whilst taking in the glorious views of Windermere and her surrounding fell range. The private jetty is available for those wishing to launch a dinghy, canoe or kayak (with prior arrangement) and the shallow bay is safe for taking a quick dip, paddle boarding and perfect for those more adventurous wild swimmers amongst you.

Respond to Curlew Close
Stayed for a week from 25/3/22 in Curlew Close. The Accomodation is spacious, well thought out and presented, and characterful. Lovely wood burner, big smart TV for cosy nights in. Pullwood Bay estate is beautiful and having that to walk in with our dog was great. Its well located for many places in the Lakes, especially Ambleside and Windermere, we were able to really explore the area. We would definitely like to return The pictures don’t do it justice. Its a little quirky, no real hanging space for clothes, but plenty of drawers. Missed having a hairdryer. Also couple of basics like milk, oil, sugar, bread, tin foil, would have been handy. Thankyou Michelle for a lovely stay and I hope we will be back one day.
Great location, use of lake is fantastic and surrounded by lovely woodlands.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Curlew Close. The cottage is a good size, is full of character and in beautiful surroundings – it was great to be able to walk down to the lake through the Estate. We walked to Wray Castle and enjoyed visits to Ambleside, Coniston, Bowness on Windermere and Keswick. A peaceful and pretty location with easy access to the Lake District’s many attractions.
This is a great little place in a fantastic location. Easy to ramble through the woods, walk or cycle to Wray Castle and Ambleside, or wander down to the jetty for panoramic views over Lake Windermere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit
Amazing location near Wray castle in the lake district for a quiet and picturesque retreat. Encountered no issues whatsoever and even prettier than the photos suggest!
This cottage is well provisioned, clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. By far the best part is the lake access and the estate grounds looking out onto Windermere – absolutely stunning and great for water sports. We will definitely return!
