Respond to 1 Cote Howe

  • Graham says:

Cracking location for everyone who wants to experience the Lakes. Accessibility for Rydal cave is great with just a 10 min walk up the road. Cote How is in great proximity to Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick. Cote How was a lovely place to come back to after a long day out. We enjoyed itso much so that we’re looking to book again for next year!

  • Emma says:

Superb cottage in a superb location. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

  • Kate Rice says:

We had a lovely time at 1 Cote Howe. Accommodation was lovely, especially the comfy beds. The cool front room became a haven during the heatwave! It is in a beautiful setting and only a short walk to Rydal Water which we loved being able to swim in. Our only gripe was the gardens weren’t completely secure for the dogs so we had to put a makeshift gate out of some odd bits of wood we found. We did however enjoy sitting in the garden and in the evenings especially, with drinks before dinner. The only other issue I would like to mention was that we weren’t told about the building work that was taking place next door. The builders were very friendly but there was some noise coming from the work being done. So a little more communication would have been nice.

  • Sue Chappell says:

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Well equipped and very comfortable and clean . Customer care from Lakeland retreats also deserve a mention for their prompt and efficient service .
Lovely walks and we were blessed with a dry Easter weekend

  • Robert says:

A fantastic house is an ideal location. Great walks and access to many beautiful villages. Michelle was super helpful.

  • Karen says:

The location of the cottage was great, as was the cottage itself. Just what we needed for a few days holiday in the Lakes. We can highly recommend the Badgers Bar for meals & atmosphere – staff were very welcoming.

  • Angela says:

A lovely cosy cottage in a quiet and tucked away location but only a 5 min drive to Ambleside. Three bathrooms is useful for three couples and 2 lounges was another bonus of space for everyone to relax in. Great walks from the doorstep including Rydal Cave, Loughrigg and Grassmere. We will definitely book Cote Howe again.

  • Joe says:

Fantastic, spacious house in a brilliant location. Can walk out of the door and straight onto a short walk to Rydal Lake and caves. 5 minute drive into Ambleside where there are a number of pubs, restaurants and shops. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here in the future.

  • Tammy says:

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and very cozy, you can step out of the door and walk your dogs for miles across the stunning countryside. Lots of places to eat at Ambleside which is a 5 minute drive, but you can also walk which takes around 40 minutes. An absolutely stunning cottage with beautiful surroundings. Thank you for making our Christmas 2021. Tam & Mark

  • Harshani says:

Great cottage to explore Rydal Ambleside, Grasmere. We loved the modern, clean rooms with all amenities and welcome Prosecco. Was 5 mins to Rydal water and access to Loughrigg Fell. Wish we had more days and would love to return. Made our birthday celebration extra special. Highly recommended.

  • Oriel says:

The cottage was lovely & spotlessly clean when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble when I have communicated with the office. Perfect position within a very short walk of Rydal Water

Perfect location for this lovely cottage. Walks in every direction direct from the door. Badger Bar only a 5 min walk away. Lovely garden to sit in. Lovely airy sitting room, but also the original more cosy room to relax in.

Superb cottage very clean and great facilities ideal for three couples. Would stay here again. Local walks from the doorstep, walking distance to the pub. Ambleside nearby for shops, restaurants and bars.

  • Shelley says:

A real little gem! Lovely cottage in a beautiful location right by Rydal water. Lots of really good walks from the doorstep, which the dogs loved. There is a pub only a few minutes walk away and shops nearby in Ambleside and Windermere. There was so much to see and do that we did not fit everything in. We will definitely be back again. Thanks for a great stay.

  • Anneka says:

Amazing cottage in a fantastic location right by Rydal Water. Local walks are easily accessible with a pub just along the footpath. The cottage was absolutely spotless and has been decorated tastefully. It has everything you need!

  • Jonathon says:

The location is great. A few minutes walk from the door sees you onto Rydal water or heading up Loughrigg fell. Ambleside is easy to get to should you need to and the house has plenty of space, a garden with a top view and has good facilities.

  • Oliver says:

Superb from start to finish. It was our first trip to the lakes with our 2 year old and some friends and their 9 month old and we couldn’t have had a more perfect stay. Michelle and Gerry were so accommodating. Answered any queries we had and were very quick at responding. The location couldn’t have been anymore ideal. Pub a stones throw away and walks and bike rides on the doorstep! We will be staying again!

  • Dennis says:

The Cote How cottage is an excellent and privileged place to stay at whilst spending some days in the Lake District

  • Liz says:

A really lovely cottage in the best possible location. Charming and comfortable cottage which comfortably accommodated 6 adults. Only a few minutes walk to Rydal Lake where we watched the sun go down. Fabulous walks in literally every direction. Tiny little gripe with the skylight in the main bedroom that would benefit from a blind. We really loved our stay and will definitely be back.

  • Kirsty says:

Incredible location, beautiful cottage, great communication. I would recommend

  • Rob says:

Such an amazing location for this lovely cottage. It’s a really great place to come back to after a day out in the hills and it’s really situated in a stunning spot.

  • Rachel says:

Beautiful Lakeland home within short drive or beautiful walk to both Ambleside and Grasmere. Pub 1 min walk away. Superb location to enjoy lots of fabulous walks in the lakes. Very clean, comfortable and warm house.

  • Aaron says:

“Such a wonderful cottage in an excellent location. It’s conveniently located in the heart of The Lakes with Ambleside & Grasmere being only a few minutes drive away. Every room is spacious and comfortable. There’s a pleasant pub only 2 minutes walk away. Space for 2 vehicles. Garden is technically secure but a dog could escape if they really tried. Highly recommend this cottage to anyone :)”

  • Olga says:

One of the best holidays ever, the place is superb, location is amazing and Michelle and Tracy from Lakeland retreats did a great job taking care of us. Highly recommend this place
