Respond to Church Cottage

  • Nadine says:

Lovely little cottage. Had everything you needed for your stay. A home away from home. Parking is a little tight but we used public transport to get around, just to avoid any complications with getting back into the parking spot in our return and public transport in the area is great anyway. Great location. Just a short walk from shops and local amenities. Would love to stay there again. Communication was great with lots of updates before we arrived.

  • Simon says:

All good, nice place to stay for a few days

  • Simon says:

Property is right in the centre of Ambleside but is still in a quiet location. Contains everything you will need for a short or longer stay.

  • Martin says:

Church Cottage is a lovely home away from home. The location is perfect if you want to be in the town, which we do, and there are some great walks straight from the front door. The rest of the Lake District is easily accessible from Ambleside by car and by bus. We will be back!

  • Nina says:

Lovely stay in Ambleside, perfect central location tucked away in a quiet corner. Great for small families (a stair gate would of been a nice extra touch) All in all a very comfortable & enjoyable stay. Thankyou

  • Steve says:

Really enjoyed my week stay at Church Cottage – great central location in Ambleside with easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants. Lounge and kitchen diner is well set out although only cooked at breakfast. Parking is tight as mentioned in the property details so be prepared for multi point turns, especially when other people are parked in the courtyard – definitely only for smaller cars.

  • Emma says:

Lovely cosy cottage in a perfect location for exploring The Lakes and very easy for wandering around Ambleside. Many walks can be done on foot from the cottage, no need to drive. Fabulous place for a break.

  • Andrew says:

Lovely cosy cottage in a great location in the centre of Ambleside

  • Belinda says:

Perfect place for our little family of 3. Very clean, and we didn’t have any issues during our stay. Our 5yo had a couple of games suitable to play, and there are a good selection of DVDs and books for adults. No issues with the parking, even though it looked tight – we have a VW Tiguan and I think if any wider it would be an issue. There were instructions on how to park and reverse on the wall that were spot on! Very grateful also for the dryer in the basement!

  • Kirsty says:

Beautiful cottage in great location. Very well appointed and clearly carefully looked after. Couldn’t fault this place for quality and location.

  • Joanna says:

I couldn’t have chosen a better location for the cottage. It was a lovely place to stay clean warm and welcoming

  • Laura says:

Great house in the centre of Ambleside. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend a visit.

  • Hannah says:

Great property right in the heart of Ambleside. Walking distance to pretty much everything including Lake Windermere. Cosy & comfy flat with brilliant views & great sun trap! Will definitely be booking again 🙂

  • Hannah says:

Lovely house in a great location. We had a fantastic week exploring the lakes with our toddler. The house is very well stocked with everything you need and the parking was a big bonus. We will definitely be back!

  • Elizabeth says:

This was the first place we stayed when we first visited Ambleside 6 years ago. We’ve been back numerous times since, even for our honeymoon! Church Cottage is a cosy, quiet and clean property in a fantastic location – right in the centre of town (about 20 steps from the Golden Rule pub!) and also with many fells and walking routes on the doorstep. Not to be missed!

  • Sophie Ree says:

Loved this cottage. Very clean and great kitchen with all utensils we could need. Parking is tight as per other reviews, but once you suss out the reversing in the yard, we managed fine (with our Audi Q3 which is a bigger car). Please don’t let the parking put you off, it’s so much better than having to fight for a space in Ambleside car parks! The bed is a super king. So big and comfy. We now want one of our own. Great sleep after days of walking! Will defo book again!

  • Nikola says:

We have just returned from our stay at Church cottage. Really lovely place, clean, spacious and great location close to shops and many restaurants. Before we set of we read about the tight parking and true be hold we did not manage to get our 4×4 car parked in front of the house but it wasn’t an issue as there is a car park only about 5/10 min walk where we parked for 3 days for a £17.50.

  • Philip says:

Our second stay at this lovely cottage in Ambleside which is in such a handy location. We had a great time.

  • William says:

Can’t imagine a better place to stay in Ambleside! Wonderful home and centrally located. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

  • Manish says:

Excellent place to stay in the heart of Ambleside town centre. The property was clean and well maintained. A lot of family friendly walking trails around. We were blessed with very beautiful weather and would love to go back again in the future.

  • Jan says:

A 5 star brilliant little cottage — perfect!

  • Phil says:

This is a great little property for a couple or small family. Comfortable living space, quiet rooms. Stayed elsewhere in Ambleside in the past and was kept awake by traffic noise. Given the location it’s very peaceful.

  • Phil says:

Excellent cottage, located just away from the main town. All you could wish for.

  • Brandon says:

Superb location. Bad parking by next door can make getting in and out difficult

  • Ian says:

    Great place. Highly recommended

  • Philip says:

    Fantastic central Ambleside location

  • Charlotte says:

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed (and more!!). Wonderful location and well thought out with everything from a Sonos system to DVDs for the dark evenings. Can’t wait to go back.

  • Barclay says:

My father had a very nice break in this lovely cottage, everything was as described, very clean, great location and no problems parking.

  • Micheal says:

“Lovely cottage, perfect location, parking is tight (bring a smallish car) but having the parking space right outside cottage was a massive bonus as Ambleside is busy. Everything you need is supplied. Highly recommend cottage for any length of stay.”

  • Robert says:

Fantastic place, amazing location and one of the best Airbnbs I’ve stayed in. The parking is a bit tight but that’s literally my only complaint, highly recommended.

  • Louise says:

Great location, only a few steps away from the shops and restaurant yet felt quiet and secluded given its hidden location. Also very much an advantage to have parking (space for 1 car) right outside the property. House well equipped and plenty of space for three of us, nice touch to have tea and coffee available for when you arrive. Appreciated the high chair and travel cot in the property too for our toddler. All in all a great stay and if in Ambleside again we’ll definitely return to Church Cottage!

  • David says:

Great place, well appointed and close to restaurants, supermarket and shops. It was warm and quiet. Check in was easy and dropping the key off was no hassle.

  • Susanna says:

Amazing location, very nicely finished with plenty of space for three people. Would highly recommend staying here! Great communication and very easy to pick up the keys even though we arrived late – it was no problem

  • Rex says:

Church Cottage is ideally situated in Ambleside. The size of the accommodation is great and very well equipped for 2/3 people. We had a great 9 days here and hope to return to Ambleside one day. There is parking directly outside the Cottage but is best suited for small cars as the approach alleyway is narrow and other vehicles could be parked near your exit route.
