Great location, a short walk into Ambleside. Very well designed property and ideal for a short stay.
Fabulous weekend break in 5 star, super private and peaceful accommodation. Comfy bed, nice bathroom, and well appointed lounge/kitchen area. 10 min walk to town (uphill on way back). Directions wise best to type ‘Gale Rigg’ into G**gle Maps
The property is kitted out to a beautiful standard. Quite often in rentals something is missing or forgotten, but extras like washing up liquid, hand soap, tea towels, oven gloves were all there. There was a pint of milk on arrival which was helpful as was the lockbox for the key, meaning we could arrive later if needed.
The kingsize bed was so comfy & the pillows and the underfloor heating was super luxurious! We didn’t need the stove as the heating was so effective, so turned the thermostat down so we could light one in the evening as it was frosty outside.
We would thoroughly recommend this place, perfect location, all mod cons and felt private and secluded but also close enough to pubs, restaurants and walks. We’ll definitely be back!
We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Cairn How, the Airbnb was luxurious and tastefully decorated, we especially loved the heated floors! The location was perfect, it was quiet with much privacy whilst also only being a short walk into the town centre. We definitely will stay again.
The apartment was in a great location and only a short walk into Ambleside! The apartment was so nicely decorated and very modern! Has everything you would need! Check in was super easy as well which was nice after a long journey up! Thank you so much for letting us stay! We hope to be back
A beautiful apartment, cosy but with a light and airy living space and equipped with everything you need for your stay. We found the bed very comfortable. It’s close to the town, but very quiet too. The owners are lovely, we asked for a washing rack and they provided one really quickly. The best accommodation we’ve stayed at in the Lakes!
Just left the property on the 7/10/22 it was amazing, small and perfect, bottle of fizz on arrival loverly touch, everything you could think of was supplied, the attention to detail with the decor was second to none throughout, I would highly recommend and would stay here again 5 minuite walk into town but far enough away to not be in the middle of it all,
Excellent accommodation, could not fault it, it had everything. Would definitely go again n recommend this accommodation to everyone
We had a lovely stay the standard of the accommodation was very high, the bed and sofa were so comfortable. Great location only a 10 minute walk into Ambleside. We swam every day in a different lake, enjoyed a nice bike ride to Grasmere and visited lots of beautiful places. We were spoilt for choice for good places to eat locally. We’ll definitely be back.
I would highly recommend staying here. The apartment is so well equipped and very comfortable. you can leave the flat on foot and you have a wide range of stunning walks to choose from and shops and restaurants in walking distance. It’s the perfect place to walk from and relax.
We were very lucky to be the first guests at Cairn How Croft. It’s the ground floor of a larger property but is fully self-enclosed and private with its own entrance. It’s extremely well sound insulated and we didn’t hear anything from upstairs at any point. The location is up a hill from Ambleside, less than a ten minute walk down into the village.
Everything is fitted out to a very high standard and it’s clear that a lot of care went in! The kitchen has everything from an induction hob to large fridge-freezer and there wasn’t anything we found lacking. We almost wished for a cold day to try out the log burner but, alas, the sun shone throughout! The comfortable sofa looks out of the patio doors onto the terrace and so it would be very cosy were the rain to set in.
The bed is extremely comfortable, though the two windows look out onto the owner’s garden and the car port so it’s hard to have natural light and privacy at the same time. The bathroom is wonderful with a very large bath, walk in shower and underfloor heating.
Finally, the terrace is a real highlight. Roughly south facing, we enjoyed coffee and a book most mornings with views over towards Windermere.
Up there as one of the best cottages we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you!
