A LARGER RETREAT FOR 8 SET IN THE very HEART OF AMBLESIDE

Bridge House Cottage is the perfect choice for a larger gathering and get-together of family or friends, perfectly placed within bustling Ambleside, a thriving village, extremely popular with holidaymakers throughout the year.

There’s plenty to do for both the first time and returning visitor; pitch and put, tennis, even an indoor climbing wall, as well as the more traditional waterborne activities taking place in and around the Lake, such as paddle boarding and even wakeboarding. Wonderful walking can be enjoyed right from the door and upon your return, join the locals for a refreshing pint at The Golden Rule just around the corner – children and pets welcome!

  • Ellie says:

Thanks Michelle. It was a real home away from home. We loved our stay and it was a great base to explore Ambleside from.

  • Carol says:

Delightful lodgings. Spacious rooms, comfy beds, lots of sinks and bathrooms. Ideal location with a great outlook. Clean and comfortable. Extra touches were well appreciated such as milk and prosecco, washing up liquid, liquid soap, games etc. We loved the house. Really good value and would definitely recommend. Thank you Michelle.

  • John says:

A nice, spacious house, in a very central location in the town. Although on the main road the house seemed quiet.

  • Will says:

Fantastic, clean and comfy house, with everything you might need, in a great location to explore Ambleside and nearby Lake Windermere. Would certainly visit again.

  • Alan says:

Bridge House is spacious and was comfortable for 6 adults and our 2 year old daughter. The place is ideally located within Ambleside with a huge car park, pub/restaurant and small eateries within 1 minute of the front door. Ambleside was quite busy with cars and the road runs in front of the property so that is something to consider if you are travelling with kids.

  • Shravan says:

Very good location. Ideal for small groups and families. Overall rooms and services are good and one can enjoy nice break here.

  • Emily says:

Great property in a perfect location in the centre of Ambleside. We were a group of friends for a cycling event, rooms are bright and spacious and big kitchen diner/ lounge area.

  • Liam says:

Excellent location, super clean and a great base for lots of people to stay in comfort.

  • Natalie says:

Place was perfect in every way. Great location to everything in Ambleside such as nice restaurants, cafes and shops. Couches and beds were comfy. Everything clean and tidy. Would definitely stay here again so thank you so much again

  • James Michael says:

Good location in Ambleside. However we did have some issues with the heating/hot water which were resolved while we were staying there

  • Philip says:

Nice weekend stay , 6 adults and a dog. House plenty spacious in a great location in the centre of Ambleside. Parking passes for 2 cars to use the car park across the road. No private yard or garden for a dog. Small alleyway at rear which runs behind the row of terraces and isn’t enclosed at the other end. There are nearby grassed areas to walk a dog to, a few minutes away. House well appointed and as described. Superb base with amenities and nice walks all available straight from the front door.

  • Mike says:

A very good place to stay in Ambleside. Great location, well looked after and good facilities. Would definitely stay again.

  • Helen says:

Great location for exploring the lakes and the local area. Comfortable rooms and good space for eating together.

  • Caren says:

The house was perfect for our stay in Ambleside. The two double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the kids loved having space to themselves on the top floor of the house. The living room and kitchen were a great size for our group of 7. The location is perfect for exploring the lakes and it was super helpful having a permit for the car park across the road. We would definitely book this house again for any future visits.

  • Mark says:

Ideal location in Ambleside, a great base for exploring the Lake District. The property itself has great facilities and cleaned to a high standard. Highly recommended!

  • Lindsay says:

A great house in Ambleside, very clean, central location and good communication from hosts. Parking is in a public car park right across the street so very easy.

  • Sadie says:

Brilliant location. Spacious, clean accomodation with all you could want for a relaxing break. Great facilities and one of the best places we have stayed!

  • lorraine says:

Bridge House is a perfect cottage for a family holiday, great space for 6 of us and 2 dogs.
Bedrooms were all spacious and plenty of storage space to unpack. All of us commented on the comfortable beds and lovely showers. Also great space downstairs, lovely big dining table and it was great to have the utility space especially if bringing dogs. Once we had parked we didn’t need our cars again we planned all our walks from Ambleside and there is plenty of them. Plenty of eating places also on the doorstep. Would definitely stay here again and would also try Tethera, next door but one if you had a large party and wanted hired the two cottages.

  • Jackie Robertson says:

A lovely property in a great location. It was very spacious and clean. A kind gesture of a bottle of prosecco and a bottle of milk was waiting for us.
Nothing was too much trouble for Michelle from Lakeland retreats.
    Would definitely stay again.

  • Yvonne says:

Fab space in the house and superb location. Hosts were great with communication and helpful before and during our stay at these difficult times. Would recommend to friends.

  • Isaac says:

Very clean! Brilliant location close to everything you need! Have to check out Lucy’s restaurant while you’re here!

  • Lewis says:

“A great property in an very good location that’s close enough to everything you would need, the cottage was immaculate and was ideal for myself and my 6 mates. A great value for money spot and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a few days away in the lakes.

  • David says:

Great place in beautiful location with excellent views. Great for family.

  • Tim says:

Nice property in a great location

  • Daniel says:

Good location for access to town centre. Very good coffee and treats at The Cornish Bakery just around the corner. Also great for Ambleside’s top restaurant, Lake Road Kitchen, which makes for a short walk home. Layout worked well for the family, but best to put children in the back bedrooms as music from the pub across the road is loud – albeit over by 21:00. Impossible to pull up out front to unload, but parking permit provided for Rydal car park just across the road and also valid in a number of car parks in the surrounding area, which is good – however, can be very difficult to find a space. Waited 20+ mins at times. Wifi was intermittent and slow – something to be aware of if you have any important work to do. Rather small TV for the size of the property. Communication with hosts was first class – felt very looked after.

  • Ashley says:

Good house with fab location to explore Ambleside

  • Alison says:

“We booked this listing at short noticed for a long weekend. We have 5 kids and a dog and the home was perfectly spacious. Most importantly in these crazy times it was absolutely spotless. There were antibac soaps at every sink and an alcohol hand wash dispenser at the back door. The house smelled fresh and clean. It was well appointed and the bed linen and mattresses all look as if they have been recently renewed. The house is right in the middle of the town which is great as are parking permits which were provided as there are 2 car parks a stones throw from the front door. We were able to nip back and forward to the car with ease and had no problem getting a space. We enjoyed food from the Flying fleece directly across the road a couple of times. The staff were super helpful and accommodating and the food was delicious, particularly their Sunday roasts! There is a fantastic playpark nearby that has something for all ages and lovely wide open spaces for picnics or kicking a ball. We also enjoyed kayaking, crazy golf and a lovely Waterfall walk. Fantastic stay, fantastic hosts. A bottle of prosecco and a pint of milk was handed to us which was a lovely touch.

  • Nicola says:
