Bridge Cottage is a well-presented property with a location that’s unbeatable when it comes to exploring some of the Lake District’s most popular destinations – be it an afternoon at Fell Foot Park, a day at the nearby Cartmel Racecourse or an afternoon Lake cruise along Windermere. Based in the small South Lakeland village of Newby Bridge, the property’s two parking spaces make it the ideal place to park up and explore from the door, while being perfectly placed to drive out and make the most of everything the area has to offer.
Just opposite Bridge Cottage and within effortless walking distance is the ever-popular Swan Hotel, not only a favourite destination for weddings and other milestone celebrations but home to a state-of-the-art leisure spa with an ultra-chic outdoor pool and luxury facilities throughout. The spa offers day passes, bespoke treatments and tailored thermal journeys – it’s one not to be missed! And for those seeking a bit more adventure, the area is packed with well-signposted walking routes and many great cycle tracks all from the door. High Dam Tarn is also within handy reach of the cottage and is the perfect place for a morning swim if you’re up for giving open water swimming a go.
Entering from the neat patio at the front of the house, you’ll find the compact utility room housing a washer/dryer, freezer and ample storage space for coats and moody boots.
Leading from this handy space, the well-proportioned living-dining-kitchen provides spacious living for gatherings of friends or family, all tied together with floor-to-ceiling bi-folding doors, creating a bright and airy feel throughout the ground floor. The large corner sofa is the perfect place to cosy down after a day of exploring and, with a SMART TV available to you, nestle down and catch up on your favourite series.
Upstairs, two good sized king bedrooms sleep four people and with Velux windows in both, the spacious vibe flows through the second floor too. Both bedrooms have comfortable mattresses – dressed with high-quality linens – TVs, neat dressing tables and bags of built-in storage.
The family house bathroom sits central to the bedrooms with a shower over bath, vanity unit, basin and WC.
To the front of the property, there’s ample parking for two vehicles, a flagged patio area with outdoor furniture and direct access into the lounge by way of the floor-to-ceiling patio doors, as well as access through the main door.

Lovely little holiday cottage. Spotlessly clean and everything you could want for your stay. A bit noisy from nearby road, though this does give quick access to surrounding areas.
