  • Karen says:

    Lovely holiday cottage, brilliant location.

  • Linda says:

Lovely quiet location with a nice view. Walking on the doorstep, along the Langdale Valley or up a number of hills if you want something more challenging. Walking distance to a couple of nice pubs that serve food, a very nice new tapas and cocktail bar and a village shop for essentials. You could quite easily stay a few days or a week without a car.

  • Grant says:

    Great Location, Nice property

  • Quin says:

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. Kitchen was really well equipped and the TV had lots of options, as well as books and games too. Short walk to the pub and shops and definitely plan to return. Clean and tidy and felt very welcoming when we arrived, amazing walks right on the doorstep and the view from the patio is stunning. We sat out in the evening and it was beautiful. Only negatives for us were the bathroom never seemed to dry out so towels were always wet (kept extractor fan on and door open to air but didn’t help much) and the driveway/parking was difficult to find.

  • Pete says:

    Great location. Well equipped

  • Geraldine says:

A cosy, little cottage in a fantastic location. Well equipped, good communication with the host. The village shop and pub are both great. Fantastic walking from the door. The local bus service is efficient if a little expensive. We only needed to use the car twice in a week. We would recommend.

  • Mandy says:

Our stay at Chapel Stile was idyllic. We wanted a base to explore Cumbria and were taking our adopted Trailhound Jack by to visit his previous racing owners. Looking out over the Langdale Valley the cottage is compact but extremely well stocked. Really comfortable with everything you could need. An easy walk to two pubs always helps and the walk to Elterwater is beautiful and an easy 30 mins. Communication was great and we were lucky in that we had the front row to ourselves. There were other groups people in the accommodation on the higher level and everyone was super friendly and all the dogs managed to get along. Highly recommend this location to access Windemere, Grasmere, Buttermere. We even ventured to Ravenglass which is past the Langdales and on the coast. We are very likely to come back!

  • Clare says:

Lovely cottage in great location. Lovely views.

  • Fiona says:

Thank you for the best week. We wanted something rural but with close contact to the world (pubs, farm, town, east walks for the kids). Our 9 month old goldendoodle Olive had the best time. Our two boys (7,5) surprisingly loved it. They got into the relaxed rural life. The location was beautiful, with the most incredible sunrise. We would recommend to a small family or single couple. My only criticism, the property could do with two new sofas. We would come back

  • Andy says:

Property was very well equipped, including tv with streaming service. It was very clean and cosy and well located for access to shops and pubs in Chapel Stile and for walking from Langdale.

  • Joshua says:

A lovely place to stay in a great part of the Lake District.

  • Rachel says:

Bluebells is in a fantastic location with beautiful views from the living room (when the clouds clear at least!). We enjoyed walks up and down the Langdale valley directly from the doorstep and could have easily made it into Ambleside on foot if the weather had been dryer! The local shop and pub are welcoming and well stocked with essentials. We did find the accommodation itself quite compact though so would suggest no more than 2 adults for a comfortable stay.

  • James says:

Very well equipped, wonderful view and a perfect location for the Langdale area walks.

  • Fiona says:

A beautiful location to visit Windermere, Grasmere, Coniston… A clean compact cottage. Parking available but have to carry suitcases etc up and down steps to street.

  • Michael says:

Lovely place in a perfect spot for walking from.

  • Jenny says:

Vey cosy cottage, small but with everything that one might need. We did not use the upstairs but downstairs was plenty for 2. The kitchen was well equipped and the heating, hot water was plentiful. We had some beautiful walks and these could be structured to personal fitness! Many thanks,

  • Phil says:

We had a fantastic few days in what is a very well-looked after property in a brilliant location for long Lake District walks. The property was very clean and had everything we needed (the kitchen, in particular, was very well stocked – necessary as there’s very few food options on the doorstep). Can’t wait to come back.

  • Tony says:

very well equipped, with everything you think you could possibly need. outstanding location. enjoyed our stay very much

  • Alison says:

Incredible location for walking (Langdale Pikes and Scafell Pike easily acccessible). Also great for cycling and running. The accommodation is really comfortable and well equipped. Definitely recommended.

  • Jessica says:

Good location, great communication and easy check-in/out. Cleanliness of the property could be improved.

  • Rob says:

“Cosy wee cottage, well placed for pub, shop and fells.”

  • Maggie says:

    Great location with fabulous views

  • Aleksejs says:

“A nice river to walk by, mountain hiking paths starting in a few minutes drive, a pub and grocery store in the village. A fantastic view out the window! Even if it rains one can still enjoy mountains while staying inside. The kitchen is very well arranged and has a variety of equipment. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. Dishwasher and washing machine help a lot. Tap hot water is often lukewarm, but the shower is hot all right.”

  • Hannah says:

Comfortable accommodation in a fantastic location for exploring the central Lake District. Amazing views from the front of the house.

  • Georgia says:

Location is perfect for exploring the Lakes. You can walk to the local shop and more than one pub. Swimming / walks all on the doorstep. Near enough to Ambleside. Couldn’t be better. We’ll be back!

  • Matthew says:

Great location, spotlessly clean place, great communication and an overall perfect experience

  • Laurence says:

A great little place to explore Langdale and the surrounding Lake District from. The place was spotless on our arrival, and the host was very responsive to any queries we had.

  • Jamie says:

“The place is set in a great location in the Langdale valley. Nearby pub served well for evening meals with a good selection of beers. Accommodation had everything needed, was warm and comfortable. Thanks”

  • Martin says:

Great location if you love the Langdale Valley. Nice accommodation with everything you need including kitchen and utilities, games TV and modern easy to use heating system. One radiator didn’t work but host turned up immediately with portable heater for that room.

  • Sara says:

Lovely little cottage in a perfect location
