The local shop is also a quaint tea room, fondly regarded as the geographical centre and heart of the community so do pop in during your visit, you’ll be sure of a warm welcome!

Really enjoyed our stay. It was a beautiful little cottage with everything you need for a very comfortable stay .
Little Bethel Cottage is cosy and in a very quiet and tranquil location to escape the stress of big Cities. The atmosphere, around it for nature lovers is magic. It contains all the essentials you need for a short trip. The bed for two is very comfy and soft. It has got a parking space at the back however, if you want to download your belongings you can park for few minutes in the front door. There are two pubs round the corner to a walking distance. The food is good. For people that would like to disconnect completely is a key place However, for those that need internet connection the signal isn’t good enough; we needed to use the Sat Nav in the Car as it was working all the time; however, the one on the phone lose signal all the time. it is because of the location, all around the Lakes. There are numerous attractions to visit and see. It was all a thumbs up for us. Highly recommendable.
What a beautiful little cottage for a base to see lake district. After day of sightseeing have drink on patio or at pub, the mortal man only 100yrds down street doing a good selection of beer and good food.. cottage is Better equipped than advertised with iron, hair dryer and even a fresh pint of milk and tea coffee and sugar with a nice packet of biscuits on arrival..Dont worry about plug socket. There’s about 30 of them no exaggeration. Freeview tv . Dvd playyer with some discs. We would book this again, should we return to area. Its a fantastic base to return to after exploring this stunning area of the UK
We had a wonderful stay at Bessyboot. The location is perfect and the facilities are exactly what is needed. Comfortable and cozy. Great walks from the cottage gate. Two excellent pubs nearby. The weather was perfect.
Brilliant spot, excellent amenities and we had an amazing stay!
Lovely little cottage in a super location. The cottage has everything you need and the walks straight out of the back door are truly wonderful. Two pubs within easy walking distance but we particularly liked the Queen’s Head. Highly recommended.
Really lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We particularly enjoyed the lovely shower after a long day exploring and the underfloor heating was a bonus.
Cottage lovely & very clean. Added tea bags, sugar & milk v welcome. Very nice & warm so hand washing dried quickly. Troutbeck is stunning & central, close to Ambleside or Windermere. We flew up so unable to bring our fav pillows & duvet was our only downside. Recommend!!
Lovely cozy private cottage with a wonderful views.
Stunning location – a stone’s throw away from two lovely lakes. Enjoyed pub meals at the Mortal Man and the Queen’s Head which are both a 5 minute walk away or less. Size was cosy for two people but rooms did look a little smaller than advertised.
We had a lovely stay (Lakes weather the usual unpredictable way). The cottage was everything we needed- small, cozy, warm, well equipped. Troutbeck is so lovely and well placed for exploring- from your doorstep or in terms of access to local towns. Would definitely recommend for an escape bolt hole.
Had a lovely stay at Bessyboot, a cosy cottage suitable for a couple staying. Troutbeck is a great base for hiking/swimming/running in the Lake District and two good pubs in walking distance from the cottage.
Cosy & well-equipped property in a great location.
Great stay for a visit to the lakes with a lovely host and all the essentials. Ideally located for both a short drive to Ambleside and Windermere.
We had a lovely stay at Bessy Boots. The location was perfect in a beautiful setting, flanked by 2 lovely pubs. The cottage is very comfortable and quiet, with just the noise of the sheep. Would recommend.
Had a great stay here. Location is perfect and the cottage has everything you need.
Fantastic cottage, great location and well equipped! This place is everything you would want for your stay in the Lake District! The host was fantastic with any questions asked and so helpful! Although not right in the centre of the busier surrounding towns, it allows you to stay in the gorgeous small village of Troutbeck and from there it is only a small drive to them. Additionally, there are two lovely pubs restaurants which are only a couple minuets walk down the road. We frequented the Queen’s Head more and they had fantastic food as well!
