Really enjoyed our stay, everything was perfect with the property! Thank you.

What a delight “Swallow” was! Everything had been thought of from the great coffee machine to a set of Wainwright’s walks books for our reference. And it couldn’t be handier in the Bowness location for exploring and convenient shopping with a lovely Booths supermarket in close proximity. Comfortable bed, luxurious sheets, we really recharged our batteries there and will, most definitely, return!

  • We are currently staying at Little Bethal in Ambleside and are absolutely delighted with our “Lakeland Retreat”.
This is our fourth visit to the Lake District but first time not staying in a hotel. Whilst we have really enjoyed our previous visits this one is by far the best and that is down to our accommodation.
Little Bethal is truly a home from home! It is so well appointed, in fact our one criticism would be that there is so much more included than we anticipated! The owners have really put so much thought into providing everything needed from books and games to every kitchen utensil. Lovely touch finding a pint of milk in the fridge, thank you.
We knew from the moment we stepped in that we were going to love our stay here. The decor is fresh and the cottage is spotless clean.
Lakeland Retreats have been a great company to deal with and replied very quickly to our emails…thank you Shaunie!
We will certainly be returning in the future.
    Thank you

We had a great week staying at the beautiful Infield Cottage, Troutbeck Bridge. Although it’s a cottage, it’s very spacious, light and airy, with a lovely garden. Very well equipped kitchen with all mod cons but retaining a lovely rustic charm. Our group was two small families, but still felt we had plenty room for us all. The property is in a great location, very peaceful but also in walking distance to Windermere or a short drive to Amblesisde. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again at this lovely cottage when visiting this area.

We enjoyed our stay at Potter’s Wheel near Coniston. The cottage was lovely and a perfect location with access to Coniston Water. We also arrived to a pint of milk in the fridge and a bottle of Prosecco, which was very thoughtful.
Lakeland Retreats were very easy to deal with, helped with information about the cottage and answered questions immediately. We will recommend this company to our friends.

We stayed in the Corner Cottage on the Heaning Estate July 2022. The Cottage was contemporary, clean and well equipped. It’s the perfect location for travelling round the lakes by car or if fancy a walk in the beautiful surrounding countryside. We would highly recommended.

  • We stayed at Chapel House @ No8 for a week. Absolutely delightful. Everything you could wish for and more. Welcome pack was a lovely touch & included a bottle of Preseco. Fantastic location in central Bowness with the benefit of private parking. Nice large rooms. Bedroom en – suite & separate shower room. We will certainly be back.

We stayed at the Old Beams Ambleside.
Lovely little find and a very short walk into the town for places to eat. The cleanliness and quality of the equipment/kitchen utensils is spot on. Cannot believe I haven’t stayed with this company before, we will definitely be back. Any queries or questions are answered straight away by the Lakeland team too. Keep up the good work.
The only slight negative was you can hear people walking above you as it is more off a flat. Cannot be helped and won’t put me off booking again.

The place is lovely, very cosy and great location for 20 min walk into town. Rooms all clean and tidy and check in was simple. We had a great time celebrating my mother-in-laws 60th birthday here.

Had a great week with Lakeland Retreats would highly recommend them first class service. We stayed in Hillside Cottage in Ambleside it was very clean and cosy place. Lots of room for 6 people would definitely come back

  • Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for our wonderful holiday at Peacock cottage. It was beautiful & as a company your second to none. I’ve read some shocking reviews about other Lakeland companies which is extremely off-putting. Lakeland retreats you are simply the best. We had a little issue with a radiator & was rectified before we got back to the cottage after nipping out for supplies. You get our vote all day long. What a fantastic company you are.

  • Ruth says:

Thank you so much. We have been really impressed with the level of service and response that you have provided at every stage from booking to leaving. I would not wish you to be bigheaded but you compare very favourably with another local lettings company (that we have used several times as we love two of their properties unfortunately), and more the more national companies like Sykes and Hoseasons who really don’t know the properties at all. So we have booked again.
My cousin recommended you and am so glad he did. We had a wonderful time together over the new year. Thank you again. With every good wish.

The house is everything and more than you read or see on the web site. The kitchen and dining area is a fantastic social area and the living room slows everything down with the focal point wood burner a welcome confort. All bedrooms are a good size with an excellent ensuite facility and the views from some are breathtaking in the early /late sun. Once the sun has gone the quiet is deafening with nocturnal sounds the only distractions. Outside, the garden is more than big and safe enough for pets to play happily and their is plenty of car parking space to the rear. It’s just a short walk into the beautiful town of Windermere with its wonderful shops and lake side location, ideal for its water sports. I cannot fault our stay at Oakland West.

I have just returned from a stay in Gingerbread Cottage in Hawkshead, which was just an idyllic little cottage in an excellent location. A perfectly cosy retreat, which is just what I needed. I felt like it was a cottage straight out of a Christmas movie! The staff at Lakeland Retreats were amazing from the beginning; very quick to respond to emails and went above and beyond when I had to cancel my original weekend date due to Covid, liaising with the owners to re-arrange my weekend at no extra cost which was beyond generous. I highly recommend Lakeland retreats and will definitely be booking through them again and have already passed their details on to friends and family.

Just returned from another stay with Lakeland Retreats. From the moment this company took over managing our favourite cottage it has felt like dealing with a family instead of a business. My thanks go out to Michelle, Adam and the team for enabling us to have a stress free week away from our busy lives. They are always willing to accommodate our requests, nothing seems too much to ask. Their response to a maintenance request was instantaneous and they were willing to work around our schedule before sending an engineer out, a special thanks to Shauna for helping with this.

Lakeland Retreats are a gift to visitors staying in the Lake District, a well presented website with a great variety of places to choose from. Their customer care service is second to none that we have used whilst staying in this area of the Lakes. They just care and enjoy what they do, this gives us the confidence to book with them time and time again.

Next year’s holiday is already booked and we cannot wait to return.

    Thank you all so much.

    Kind Regards,

    Alexander and Eimear

I would just like to comment on the amazing customer service I have received from Gee and Shauna.
Prior to making my booking, I contacted Lakeland Retreats for further information on various properties and I can honestly say it was so refreshing to deal with a company who answered emails in such a professional way; always friendly, honest and happy to answer any questions in such a timely manner.
Lakeland Retreats will my first ‘go-to’ when booking holidays in the Lake District.

  • Nicky says:

Brilliant accommodation, couldn’t fault it, clean spacious and modern but still cosy. Even a Christmas tree was provided! Great family business with excellent customer service, would highly recommend.

  • Ann Storey says:

I want to comment on the amazing service and support we received from Michelle and Tracy at Lakeland Retreats
I always think the test for a business is when there are problems and these last months have certainly redefined problems. Throughout we received timely communications with a proactive approach giving us options and support.
It is wonderful to be able to support a local, family run business and their commitment to doing their best for both guests and property owners is evident in everything they do.
We will definitely continue to rent their properties and highly recommend them.

Had a fabulous time this weekend at 1 Cote Howe Cottage in Rydal with our family great location for walking and visiting the lakes it’s a spacious House,Immaculate and well equipped in a quite location will definitely be going again.

  • Steve M says:

This was our 4th time with Lakeland Retreats, the team are all very friendly, helpful and flexible, communication is spot on. A very well run company that we shall be using again.

The properties we have stayed in have all been superb and well kept.

  • Rob Pressler says:

Long weekend stay at Middlebeck Cottage in Ambleside on October 2019. Michelle at Lakeland Retreats was so friendly and helpful, both before our visit and on arrival. Perfect, peaceful spot but only 10 minutes to Ambleside. The cottage had everything we needed and log burner was very welcome. Thanks also for the welcome hamper. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon. Thanks so much

  • G & J says:

Michelle and Tracy of Lakeland Retreats are passionate about their customer service and, from booking until after we had left, could not have been more helpful in making our stay a memorable one.
This was our second stay at Riverside Lodge which has a wonderful setting on the edge of Ambleside. The property has a relaxing garden on the banks of the River Rothay.
The Lodge itself possesses spacious accommodation for 6 people. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with a more than ample amount of crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking equipment.
The ground floor’s generous sized room for wet gear, is a more than useful addition given the Lake District climate!!
The real icing on the cake is the full sized snooker/Pool table in the Games room; on first seeing it our 9 year old nephew thought all his Christmas’s had come at once and it certainly provided many hours of family competition. The Games room’s integral snug area, with its log fired stove, means that ‘spectators’ can relax and watch the fun!!
Riverside Lodge is a great family/friends retreat both within easy walking distance of the town and you can set off for lovely walks straight from the Lodge’s door – we will definitely be returning.
